Rules and Regulations of the CUAC Karting Championship

Now Updated for 2009

  • There will be three championships

    1. CUAC Premier Karting Championship (CUAC PKC)
    2. CUAC Rookies' Karting Championship (CUAC RKC)
    3. CUAC Women's Karting Champtionship (CUAC WKC)

    • Rookies and Women are included in the PKC, Women can be included in the RKC
    • A Rookie is anyone with in their first year racing with CUAC
    • Prizes will be awarded to the winners of all 3 championships after the last round

  • Colour Coding of Results

    Yellow Premier Championship Leader (1)
    Blue Rookies' Championship Leader (2)
    Pink Women's Championship Leader (3)
    Red Last race's winner (4)
    Green Last race's best laptime holder (5)

    (order of importance in case of a person holding more than one)

  • Points distribution

    • 35-31-28-26-25-24-23-22-21-20-19-18-17-16-15-14-13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-1-1...
      • Individual Race: driver keeps all points
      • Team Endurance: points doubled, divided by no. per team, rounded up to the nearest half point
    • Best laptime is awarded two points.
    • Each driver drops their one worst score (can be a zero for a DNS)
    • In event of a tie most wins decides, followed by most seconds etc...
    • Varsity not eligible for points
    • Points on Team Races:
      • Teams based on last years championship positions for the 1st race and this year's standings for the rest
      • Equal spread of veterans, rookies and women
  • Race Panel

    • A qualified panel to give out awards (Rookie of the Race) and judge on problems at races (and any other relevant issues)
    • Panel to consist of the Karting secretary, the Competitive Karting secretary, the Competitions Secretary and one Co-opted other who was present at race (may be non-committee.) In the event that any of the above individuals were involved in any of the matters being appealed they are to be replaced by any committee member present at the race or failing that by another suitable CUAC member present.
  • Signing-up and Payment

    • Nobody will be considered as a signed-up driver for a race until we have his/her cheque in our hands by an announced date
    • Any cancellations inside THREE days (72 hours), but before ONE day (24 hours) (see below), prior to the departure time for an event will be penalised with 25% of the price
    • Any cancellations inside ONE day (24 hours) prior to the departure time for an event will be penalised with 100% of the price
    • People that have been meticulous in their dealings with us will be considered preferentially for future events (e.g. when teams need to be filled up and there is a queue, or when people need to be left out)
