Lent 2007

February - August Internet Table-Top Rallying Championship. Enjoy rallying but don't have a car? Want to find out what rallying is about before trying the real thing? Then the internet table-top rallying championship could be for you. Classes for all experience levels from Novice to Master, cheap entry raising money for charity and get a real life World Ranking.
Saturday 16th February: Cuppers Inter-College Kart Race. One of the highlights of CUAC's annual championship - compete for the Colleges' karting trophy and for the pride of your college. The event will be held at Rye House, CUAC's home track, and the format will be confirmed shortly.
Saturday 23rd February: CUAC Annual Dinner. You are invited to CUAC's 2008 annual dinner. We are still looking for an after dinner speaker from the world of motorsport, so if you know of someone who would speak (or are someone!) then please let us know.
Friday 29th February: Mindwarp Rally. Another chance for some 12 car rallying fun. The location and details of the rally are still to be confirmed, but we have invited another (the other?) well known club to compete against us. Hopefully they can make it.
Friday 7th March: Audi South West Endurance Rally. If you've done CUAC's rallies this is a chance to get involved with a more serious rallying challenge. Endurance rallying incorporates some of the features of road rallying and some of stage rallying. Normally this requires modified cars but this year sees the start of a new class set for cars without roll cages - a good way to see if this is for you.

Previous Events

Michaelmas 2007

Sunday 7th October: Chinese Grand Prix. A CUAC Social to watch the penultimate Grand Prix of the season.
Tuesday 9th October: Squash. 7-9pm in the Graduate Dining Room, New Hall. A chance to come and talk to existing members and the committee about what CUAC does, while drinking CUAC's alcohol.
Thursday 11th October: Introduction to Road Rallying. 7:30pm onward, LLoyd Room, Christ's College. Everything you'll need to know to compete in road rallies, either as a driver or a navigator. We'll explain how rallies work and how to solve the navigational clues, and there will be a table-top rally to practice.
Sunday 14th October: Karting Round 1 - Caxton. Our first kart race of the season at an excellent indoor track close to Cambridge. The Caxton Sprint format promises interesting racing and the indoor track makes it an ideal introduction to karting for those who've not done it before.
Friday 19th October: Ariel Rally. CUAC's traditional first rally of the season, with about 60 miles of exciting roads in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. The rally is aimed to be a gentle introduction for those who've never navigated before but there will be a more difficult expert class as well.
Sunday 21st October: Brazilian Grand Prix.
Saturday 27th October: Chelmsford MC's Pheasant Plucker Rally. Chelmsford MC have kindly invited CUAC to participate in the Pheasant Plucker Rally. The main rally is a NAtional B, but there is also a Clubmans' event on the same route. Perhaps an opportunity to put into practice all the things you learned on the Ariel?
Saturday 3rd November: Donnington Park Raceday and Fireworks. An excellent day out last year, with interesting cars, quality racing and an open pit.
Sunday 11th November: Production Car Trial at Mill Hill. Another Chlemsford MC event, this time a PCT. Try to drive a standard production car through a slalom up the side of a muddy hill. Always a fun event.
Friday 23rd November: The Thousand Fens Rally. Celebrate the end of term with CUAC second road rally of the season. A more driver focused rally with around 100 miles of fenland roads. Very flat terrain, very bumpy roads, long straight runs and 'interesting' corners make the route a fantastic challenge to drive.
Saturday 8th December: Preston Road Rally. One last opportunity to go rallying this term with Chelmsford's Preston Road Rally. This one is (I think) only running as a Natitonal B, so you'll need a competition license to enter, but it promises around 180 miles of route, for a whole night of rallying fun, and breakfast at the finish!

Lent 2007

Thursday 19th October: Introduction to Road Rallying. Z Basement Room, Christ's college. A complete novice's guide to navigational road rallying; both driving and navigating. We'll explain what you can expect from our rallies, and how to go about solving navigational clues and plotting routes.

Sunday 29th October: Red Lodge Karting. The first of our season of kart races.

Thursday 30th November: Christmas Dinner.
